5 Weeks!!!

This week has been great so far. Sunday Uncle Ryan came over form Council Bluffs to see Lil Miss Lexi for the first time. He had been sick and didn't want to spread the germs, and we thank him for that!!! So he got here before I got to the hospital and I received a text saying "So I am looking at Miss America in the making!!! It was so sweet I saved it on my phone! So I knew he had got to meet Lexi! Sorry guys I think shes kinda cute...haha k she's really cute...
So anyways Saturday we got our last round of antibiotics for the staph infection. So they asked if I would let them start giving her steroids to help with the inflammation in her lungs and help increase the surfactant for her lungs to work better on their own. Then I got told all the pros and cons, and the pros by far out weighed the cons, so I said go for it!
When I got to the hospital on Sunday Lil Miss wasn't a happy camper she was fussy (without sound because of the vent) and pulling on her vent tube...She just wasn't happy and it just wasn't her! So they talked about taking her off the vent because the steroids had already started to kick in for her she was doing good breathing. So we went off to lunch while nothing was going on. When I got back to the room they were all there waiting for me to come back because they were moving her to CPAP ( which is a step up, but it looks kind of scarier than the vent. So the vent came out (which Lil Miss had already pulled it half way out on her own) and the CPAP is in! I can hear my beautiful daughter make sounds again. Her cry, her grunts, her everything is so cute!!! Love it!!!
So today was Roberts first birthday as a daddy...HAPPY 29th BIRTHDAY ROBERT!!! So he got to hold Lexi for the first time! It was so sweet, I got as many pictures as he'd let me take. She wasn't too fond of the flash so he kept telling me she didn't like it so I'd quit...haha! She snuggled right in in her daddy's chest and loved every minute of it.
She is now 1163 grams =2lbs. 9oz. and 14 inches!!! She is up to 21ML for feedings now (every three hours). She is having a great day today, as I'm typing she is actually turned down to room air and she is doing great! We just hope this keeps going great, so I don't have a hard time going back to work on Monday!
Keep the prayers coming, because they sure are working!!!
